Chris Stirling traded the frozen prairies of Winnipeg for the warm, reef-ringed waters of Bermuda — and that's where his lifelong fascination with maritime history found its subject. Surrounded by coral forts and the ghosts of the age of sail, he started writing the stories that became the Crimson Cross series.

A technology manager by day and an adventure storyteller by night, Chris brings systematic research and a deep love of human drama to his fiction. Having recently returned to Calgary after years in Auckland with his wife and young son, Chris is happiest when he's planning his next historical deep dive — usually while chasing a toddler and keeping one eye on his beloved Winnipeg Jets.
